I think one of the coolest things about the AeroPress, however, is that it's made by Aerobie. Aerobie is actually a world record-setting flying disc. The only thing that coffee and flying rings have in common is Alan Adler. Alan Adler is pretty much the coolest. When he's not teaching mechanical engineering at Stanford University or lecturing at NASA and CalTech, he just takes little things he enjoys like coffee and flying discs and invents the ultimate version of it. He currently holds about 40 patents.
I love the idea of Alan Adler just blasting a malfunctioning coffee maker across his garage and turning the coffee industry on its ear.
